Deserted Restaurant

Surreal experience tonight: we tried out a new place for dinner. It's one of those pub/thai food combinations of which I'm always suspicious, but this one is very local, and has been around for as long as I can remember. Longevity is often a good recommendation (though it doesn't explain Pizza Express), and my curiosity wouldn't go away.
Good news - tasty food! And very reasonably priced, as they say in reviews. But the place was totally deserted. And we were given the pleasure of cheesy 'seasonal' music quite loud for the duration of the meal.
It was a glorious mix of carols, folk latin and cliff richard. It all added spice to the fish cakes.
