Available in all sizes

Well, I know that the internet is constantly expanding, with companies offering more and more products and services. Things you couldn't possibly imagine. And established companies that started off just selling music and books have branched out into kitchenware, clothing, electronics... all sorts.

Which is why I was a little disturbed, but not surprised, when an email arrived this morning from Amazon.co.uk. The subject line was:

'Girlfriends now available from Amazon.co.uk'

Now, I don't know about you, but I think that's going a bit far. Or is it? Is it not far enough? Should they also be offering boyfriends? And what happens if you want to upgrade your girlfriend or boyfriend for a wife or husband?

It turns out that it was just letting me know that customers who'd bought music by Jill Scott might also like 'Girlfriends', the soundtrack to some TV show featuring songs by people like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, India Arie... etc.

If I weren't already engaged I probably would have been a little disappointed.
