Linton and Saffron Walden

The Linton Children's Book Festival was a great event the other day. I was really impressed by the atmosphere of laid back fun, and how smoothly everything seemed to run. I felt like I had a really friendly welcome from the crowd too.

I thought I'd give you a little flavour of the day with a couple of pics. Here are some of the people waiting to have a Jimmy Coates book signed:
And this is the view the other way:
Finally, I took a trip to nearby Saffron Walden after the event, to check out the place that's named after one of the characters in the Jimmy Coates series:

Didn't you visit the legendary "Linton Travel Tavern"?...

Hi Joe - Big thank you from everyone at Linton Book Festival for such an energetic and entertaining performance. You certainly fired up the children in the audience - they are all now buried in your books trying to find out if Jimmy survived the manic drilling machines! Please come again in 2010!

Thank you again from Linton, we loved your energetic and interactive performance and we've had no end of compliments about what a "find" you were - tee hee! It was great to finally meet you and the lovely Mary-Ann. We are hoping that some of the audience will be taking your ideas and making up some fantastic stories of their own. We'd love to see you again.
