Under Eleven Cricket

Brondesbury Under Elevens crashed out of the cup in the first round tonight, in a tight clash against underdogs Cockfosters.

We lost by ten runs, chasing the seemingly modest total of 87. In our twenty overs we managed only 77. It went down almost to the wire, though. With 24 balls left, Brondesbury were sitting pretty, needing 22 runs to win, with 6 wickest still in hand.
From there, however, we crashed and burned, against some very straight Cockfosters bowling.

So the dream of the cup has died for this season. Never mind. The league campaign starts on May 18th against North Middlesex.

Bring it on.

(PS. in case you're sitting there thinking, 'Hold on a minute, Joe isn't under 11, what's he doing playing for a junior cricket team?' - I'm the manager.)
