My old school is raising funds for student bursaries with an 'auction of promises', so I offered one of the 'promises'.
The winning bidder will have a character named after him or her in the next Jimmy Coates book (that's number 5, by the way - number 4 isn't out yet, but I've already written it, so you can't be in that one).
Your name might be used for an evil character, or it might be a hideously ugly character who smells bad. But it also might be an amazing person who saves the world and can tap dance. I don't know yet.
But if you're interested, check out:
and go straight to lot number 414.
At the moment I'm slightly embarrassed to say that the bidding has reached the massive heights of, um, ten pounds. Yup, ten whole earth pounds.
So somebody might get into my book for a tenner.
I hope he or she has a good name.
I have to admit, I'm worried...
Incidentally, there are some other amazing lots on offer, so have a browse. You can bid online right now and you don't have to actually come to the auction.
(Obviously it will help if you're old enough to have a credit card. Your own credit card. Don't go nicking your mum's just so you can get into my book. It's not worth it. Don't do the crime if you can't tell the time. No, wait, I mean 'do the time'.)
