Muppets

Turns out it was Kermit's 50th birthday yesterday.
(Sorry I missed it, Kermit. I was celebrating another friend's birthday.)
He's going on a world tour apparently, and you can check up on his progress at the Muppet site.
Even more exciting is the news that they're launching a new TV show - 'Muppet Idol', or 'America's Next Muppet'. If only there were some way I could enter.
Also, it turns out September 28th was the anniversary of William the Conquerer landing in Britain. And as if that wasn't enough, I was sitting on the tube yesterday, reading 'Travels in the Land of Kubilai Khan', by Marco Polo, when I came across this sentence:
"The Great Khan was born on the twenty-eight day of the lunar cycle in the month of September."
How's that for a coincidence? It was the Great Khan's birthday, and I happened to be reading that passage in the book about him. Good for you, Great Khan.
So, all in all, it was a pretty significant day yesterday. I'm glad I wore a waistcoat.

Not forgetting Brigitte Bardot and Gwyneth Paltrow. Also, your waistcoat was a triumph.
