Blow, Gabriel, Blow

Strangely packed day for celebrity birthdays: Johnny Depp, Natalie Portman and Michael J. Fox will all be blowing out candles today. Here's a little quiz for you - who's older, Michael J. Fox or Johnny Depp?
There's another birthday today, though, and it's one I think worth noting. Cole Porter was born today in 1891. (He died in 1964.)
He was one of the first great songwriters. Along with Irving Berlin and the Gershwins, he created the first golden age of songwriting. It's been said about him many times before, but I want to say it again - what a lyricist. When it comes to song words, he's never been touched.
"You're sublime,
You're a turkey dinner,
You're the time of the Derby winner,
I'm a toy balloon that is fated soon to pop;
But if baby, I'm the bottom, You're the top."
