The Gates

Have you heard about 'The Gates'? If you live in New York you'll know what I'm talking about. A couple of crazy artists (the ones who wrapped up the Reichstag a few years ago) have employed hundreds of people to put up bright orange shower curtains all over Central Park. Well they look like shower curtains.
The effect is pretty stunning, if you ask me. Yes, it does turn Central Park into a weird semi-building site, and I'm sure it's beautiful enough without crazy artists giving it a helping hand, but it's only for a couple of weeks, and it's a lovely orange colour. Not lovely for your living room, you understand. And not lovely for clothes, make-up, cars, or even oranges. It's basically only good for hanging miles and miles of material off hundreds of posts in Central Park. It's a good colour for that.
OK, I'm going to try something new now. I'm going to try putting a picture in the weblog. It could all go horribly wrong, but this post would mean so much more if you could see what I'm talking about. If there's a picture here, it worked. If I accidentally set off a chain reaction that results in putrid slime raining down from Saturn to burn us all in our beds, then it worked less.

I'm very pleased that NY was wonderful and that you're back safely - will call for the whole story sometime. In the meantime, did you see this when you were over there?
