New Tradition

We instituted a new annual event today - afternoon tea at The Basil to celebrate my mother's birthday.
Sandwiches stuffed with smoked salmon, tuna, egg, cucumber; fat scones plastered with cream and jam; cakes, cakes and more cakes. All served by the waiter so good at his job I shall hereafter call him the Tea-minator.
So Happy Birthday to my Mum. Same again next year.
Perhaps without the torrential rain, though.
One English tradition at a time.

Torential rains? scones? cake? Maybe you could write a new version of MacArthur Park?
