Birmingham

The glamour of an author's life never stops. I'm going to Birmingham this afternoon.
There's always a place in my heart for Birmingham - I have lots of family there. My Grandad lived there and visiting him was loads of fun.
Birmingham is where I first saw a cricket match. My Grandad took me to see Warwickshire against Leicestershire at Edgbaston in, I think, 1988. David Gower scored 30.
Anyway, I'll be back in Birmngham tonight, meeting more people from the world of books and bookselling. It should be fun. I'll let you know.
One thing's for sure - it'll be more peaceful than this house, where 'the men' are still knocking down the old bathroom. Knocking, hammering and drilling.
Euston station will be a gentle brook compared to this.
