Old Movies

My sister has prompted a mini-festival of old movies. She's particularly keen on foreign classics, which is fine by me!
Last night we watched a great Renoir - La Bete Humaine. My favourite Renoir is La Regle Du Jeu, but I did enjoy this one too. The last time I saw it was without the subtitles, which was a very different experience! This time round I had some idea of what the hell was going on.
The night before last we enjoyed a Kurosawa movie I'd been meaning to see for ages - Ikiru.
Wow. What a film. By no means action packed, but deep, moving, funny and simply wonderful. It wasn't perfect, but I think it's one that will grow on me more and more as I get older.
