Don't Put The Clocks Back!

This Saturday everybody in Britain will be putting their clocks back by one hour in an almost medieval ritual that causes road accidents, misery, economic retardation and, apparently, obesity.

I also blame it for many of Britain's other evils, including crime, animal cruelty, reggae, religion, hooliganism, teenage pregnancy and BBC3.

Click here for a column explaining things in slightly more sane terms. I agree with it all and I get pretty angry every year when we're forced to put the clocks back.

In fact it's one of the few things that gets me angry. Speed bumps and the BBC are the only other two I can think of at the moment. I'm sure more will come to me.

And now I'll have long dark evenings to consider them all.

Religion is one of Britain's many evils...do you want to elaborate? Is it the worst do you think? I hope you've made a donation to the 'atheist' buses campaign!

And I wonder what time you get up? Winter time is proper time, it is the new fangled BST which is without purpose. Personally, clocks going back is one of my many autumn & winter joys a whole extra hour to rest in my bed and evenings, which are dark anyway, filled with fire and comfort.

Hmmmph. I work 12 hr shifts and was on nights. Had to do a 13 hr shift and ended up getting a late job, so it ended up as 13 ½ hrs. And of course when they go forward it’s an hour less sleep. It’s all a conspiracy to keep us tired thus preventing the revolution……..
