Weird Drumming

The school across the road from me had its annual fete yesterday, and there's still some kind of weird drumming going on. I don't know whether it has anything to do with yesterday's celebrations, or whether it's a tribal thing among the students. I don't want to investigate further in case I find ritual sacrifice in the heart of our leafy suburb. Again.
It's not disturbing me too much. I have McCoy Tyner bashing away in the corner. Not literally him, you understand, but a CD. He was busy. (By the way, if you ever get a chance to hear McCoy Tyner live, you should go - best gig I've ever been to.)

Did you go to the fete, though? I love school fetes, to the extent where I seek them out and go to them, even though I have no connection to the school. (I do know this is weird, but hey.) Ah, the easy-to-win-if-you-are-a-grown-up games, the cream teas, the occasional animal, and the wonder at finding that when it isn't your school, the headmistress is not a god, but just some woman.

Sadly I didn't make it to the fete. But now I feel like whatever I was doing wasn't worth it and I should have gone. Oh well - next year.
